THE AMAZING FAN EXPO !

Yea so, This last weekend, we went to .....

FAN EXPO !

Crazy right ?
Right .
It was incredible ! An experience I'll never get to have again . It was one of those times that you miss the minute you leave. I had such a great time . We advertised Mind's Eye tons and got lots of attention ! The trailer played all weekend , but unfortunetly , unless you saw it there, it won't be only until October 31. Halloween !
One of the big Highlights was meeting Felicia Day and Amy Okuda ! They're two stars from The Guild, which is a very popular Webshow , and basically started all webshows . I'd only seen felicia Day in Dr. Horrible, So I thought it would be appropriate to watch a few episodes of The Guild .
After I had watched one episode, I was hooked, and I stayed up to 2:00am Watching the whole series. It is truely a great and funny Webshow . You really should check it out . www.watchtheguild.com
Anyways though, Felicia said she'd watch the Show ! And Jodre (Young Koji) asked her to come on the show , and gave her a Synn Studios Card . It was quite funny actually .

Unfortunately only the select few were there at the time , so the whole cast didn't get to meet her.

Vacation !

So ,

Haven't really seen any of the cast except for turtle since the last day of filming . Its really weird . They were like family to me , and then suddenly , poof . they're gone .. I dont like it . One bit . But , luckily , in a week the wrap party is going down , so Im really excited for that ! I can't believe the filming is already done . It just went by to fast . I could barely look around before it was done . Im really hoping for another series. Because this summer has been the best of my life . I don't want to go back to my old summer , with going to camp , for a month , than cottage for a month . I want to film , so badly :)

But anyway's,
My vacation has been pretty fun so far. I've been in wasaga beach practically since the last day. Its really hot here. Too hot. Even hotter then in Welsey . Well , maybe not THAT hot .. I've been spending alot of the time on the beach , and since I get so board on the beach , I learned to do front flips . And those are really fun :) I've also been swimming lots and reading ! Im hoping they'll make Mind's Eye comics, that'd be so awesome ! I'd read every single one . Well , duh . ahaha ,,
But , I've also spend alot of the time on the beach , and hanging with my sister and her friends. unfortuently , I haven't been able to get a friend up yet. But Nathan (Darius) is coming up after the wrap party. So that'll be fun .,

END . (Of the world ?!) .. PARTAAY !

Yea so , Today was the very last day of shooting . The very last . Until season two ? :D

But yea . Unfortuently , we're all done shooting ., and wont all be together until the wrap party in a few weeks. Its gonna be really weird to wake up , and not have a shower , then go to set.  Now Its gonna be , wake up , laze around for an hour , think about getting up , laze around for another hour, than go eat .
And not seeing the cast and crew everyday will be.. upsetting ? Yes . thats the right word . They're all my family now . And its hard to be away from family . Hopefully I can see everyone very soon :)

This whole experience, every minute of it , has been crazy . I can't even believe what stuff I've gone through . I've run away screaming 10 times.! No, but , honestly . I've hung out with a knight and a Pirate! I got to stcik/sword fight for an hour straight (Causing a huge blister on my thumb), I got to be in a classroom with abunch of random kids, and pretend I've known them forever.  I've practically lived in all these different places . Wesley , The studio , the woods , The high school. Just everywhere we've worked. Its gonna be so weird to not travel everywhere , or get mad when an airplane goes by (audio).

Tom , Tom , And Nick (Maybe more?) Are now working on Post Preduction for the next .. 4-5 months ? Fun , I know . Actually it is fun . To make everything you've watched been shot , finally come into place . Making the full episodes , and seeing how all the effects work out. Im jealous to be honest. Im very excited to see everything once done. It should be incredible. I really wanna see what its gonna look like . And I'm very exited to see myself on the computer. And it'll be weird for other people to be commenting on things like my acting . I'm excited to see what people think of me . And what I think of me.


Everyone has been thinking this whole shoot, this one question no body has the answer to ; Will this get big ? Well , nobody knows . It'd be interesting to actually have a budget to do things . We'd probably have a lot more crew, and better costume and such . And actually get paid . Its amazing everybody has volunteered there time for this . theres probably about 60 people in total, that have, and will, volunteer to help us out. All, as much as me , hoping for it to go big. It would be very exciting, and im sure everyone would be super happy. I myself , would be super excited . It'd be very cool to be 'known'. But , what if this doesn't go big ? What happens if it doesnt get picked up ? Well , it was still an amazing expierence . One Ill probably never be able to have again unless It gets picked up , or I continue to act. Its been the best summer of my life by far, and the summer's only half done ! I don't know what to do , if I don't act! Maybe I can just act like Im doing something .....


But anyways ,
Today went great. We had 3 short scenes to do , and they were nice and quiiiick . They were all lots of fun too . Since we kids were the only ones people in the school , sneakin around .. Or were we ? haha , in one of the scenes I had to run around alot . And I got really sweaty. Just puttin' that out there.

Once all the kids were wrapped , we decided it'd be appropriate to have an After party. So we decided to meet at young mark (Andrew)'s House later on .
I have to say, it was lots of fun. When we got there, we played hide n' go seek, and I owned. (I am the chosen one and all .) Then we went and played tennis . Me and Turtle kept hitting the ball out of the court and it was tons of fun. 'Cept our opponents got angry .. :)
We then decided to play Manhunt in the forest. That was lots of fun . Turtle (Darius) found a frog , and threw it at Jodre (Koji). Then they ran at me since they were it . I gotta way , with my ninja skills though. (Isn't Koji supposed to be the ninja ..?) Then halfway through All the adults unexpectedly came, and chilled with us . We then had a nerf gun war. And mingled with the adults .
Eventually , we had the 'minds eye cake',. We recorded it , and made every possible filming joke possible. It'll be on the site . It was pretty funny. And the cake tasted great !

So , Theres a big thank list I just must say .
Obviously , I'd like to thank Thomas. He's been a great inspiration to all the kids, and we couldn't of gotten through it without him . He was funny , and loving of everyone. Thank you Thomas. We love you :)
I wanna thank Tom as well , for being an epic co-director , and being so good with us kids .
Nick for Being an epic camera man, Soch for being funny 24/7 and making us sound perfect, Chris for slating , Danika for being an amazing ass-director, Lindsey for being out there to help and take snaps, The blackthorn guys for doing very many things, James the cop for letting us use his house , and directing, Zeeke and his wife for wardrobe, Lovina and Ashley for making me look stunning on camera day after day , Spenny for manning the camera, and so many more too . I wanna thank all the mothers , especially mine , for always being there on set for me , and having what I need. Thanks mom :)
I think its very appropriate that since I (Nik/Illia) is going on vacation , the theme of my blog changes ?

Back to school .. Already ?

Yea so , today we filmed at Lourds . A catholic highschool here in Guelph. But ofcourse , since its summer and all , we had NO air condtioning or anything. So , we got to sweat our butts off all day , with the 15 extras we had. Ahh , good times .

But today was really fun . We had a 'bully' scene . Where I get to run away grunting for the millionth time. We also got to film in a classroom . With a new actor , that we haven't gotten to work with yet . -Mrs. Crosswathe- . She was a great actor , and really fun to work with . She was so convincing of a teacher, at first I thought I was back in school. I also got to yell in that class to . Its cool working with extras, because its a verity of different people to act with, and Its awesome when its with a crowd of people , and they all react as a group . For instants, I yelled in the classroom , and all the kids with me had to darts there heads toward me , at the same time. The first few times , in rehearsal it made me giggle , cause it was so cool for that to happen like that .

After all the kids had left , me and Andrew (Young Mark) had a scene to do back in the forest. But before that, Tommy (Tom Gofton) Had to flirt with our teacher. I wanted to watch , so I slated , and then watched too :) Its was lots of fun , and Tommy and Mr. Crosswaithe are great actors together!

Back in the forest , for the BILLIONTH time , me and Andrew (Mark) had to redo a scene because I was wearing the wrong clothing. Luckily , this time went alot quicker, and I think it went alot better aswell . I was really happy with the end product.

Back to school again tomorrow .

DOMO !

Beach , Cheyaa !

Yeaso , today we went to Grand Bend . Im not gonna lie , it felt like a really long day . Although it wasn't even that long , I had long scenes , and it was un - real how hot is was . I had the most lines today , than I have so far , and we only have 3 days left of shooting ! Well , probably some more pick up days , in late august, but other than that , its great ! We're really happy that its almost over . But , we're going to miss it so much . This is so fun , and weirdly entertaining. I've fallen into this routine , to get up , and go to the studio , and start filming . And acting. Its gonna be so weird not to be Illia anymore. I think I've really grown attached to the character I play , and it feels so weird. Not like anything I've felt before . And I love it . I think alot of the cast has done the same aswell .

ANYWAYS ,

I'm with Turtle , our call time isnt till 11 tomorrow morning , so we can stay up late ! I mean .. go to bed at an early time ? Yea sure ..
Today we had to wakeup at 6:00 though , so anything beats that in the morning . We didn't get to Grand Bend until 11:00 or so , but it was a good 2 hour drive .
This morning , Me and Loveena (Makeup Artist) were drawing like crazy. Which I really enjoyed , because I love to draw , but I dont get to enough , and Loveena really helped me improve how I draw . And since Illia is some major artist kid , its really good I 'got more into character ' .


Best part of the day was probably when I got to go for a swim at the very end , because it was incredibly refreshing . The water was just there , and I was acting beside it , sweating my butt of , for 5 hours . So when I finaly got in , it was like , the best feeling ever . And alos , i had to go into the water for part of a scene , so I got to enjoy the water , and act at the same time . Fun stuff .

Right now Im just chillen with Turtle , and Lovina , they're both sleeping over at my house today , so we're havin good times .

Its Mrs. Dracula  ..

Four locations , 2 days .

With two days , comes four locations ? Wow .

That actually sounds worse than it is . Today was just one location, at the ballpark , and yesterday was 3 different locations. Today was short , because we had a time limit , but we barely got a break ! To add to the torture, it was 50 bajillion degrees outside.

But, We still had fun doing the scenes. I had to yell a lot , and ended up almost losing my voice. I drank some stuff , so it should be better .

Yesterday .
So, yesterday, ended up being longer then we all expected. We had to film at a movie theatre, (The Bookshelf), and that ended up taking alot more time than anticipated. And, after that , once we had got back to the studio , we still hadn't really eaten lunch , and it was almost dinner time. So, we all went out for dinner. I got pizza :) . After dinner , we decided to head to our street, to replace a scene we had already done . Right after that was finished, we went to a school , a re-shot the hell scene, for the second time. We call it the hell scene, because the first time we did it , it took forever , and no one knew there lines. Then , we replaced Alyssa, so we had to re-do that scene again . The rain was on-off though, so that ended up taking up 2-3 hours as well .  Then , all the footage somehow got lost , so we had to re-shoot it AGAIN .
Luckily , we finished it quickly. But we figured out we had to do at least 70 takes in total .

Later that day , Darius (Turtle) slept over at my house again . We were up late , making a cool video . Then my mom shut us down , so we couldn't finish it until a couple hours ago .

Night with Darius ,

So , today , I had a long morning , waking up at 6:45 . But , after that , I decided to go check out the Dolgrath's lair set. There were tons of extras , so it was quite crowded . Soon enough Turtle was there with me , and it was an instant party . :)
Not actually , but it got a lot more fun . We met a lot of the extras , and watched them do the scenes . Of course eventually we got bored, so we explored the building , then left.

At my house , we just fooled around , playing video games for a bit . The Turtle, (Being the clumsy fellow he is), missed my hand , when practicing boxing . He slipped , and fell right on his stomache . It was hilarious . 

We somehow got it on camera ? Ya , okay . We'll go with that ..

So yea , that was a funny highlight of our night :)

Then for whatever reason , I got in character , and started drawing .

The dolgraths lair is lookin AWESOMEE ! The guy that did all the props and such , is a miracle worker . Im very impressed . So it turtle . And tom . and Tom . And Nick . he got scared . ahahha . sucker .

Half Day

So today , Tom saw at 6 AM that it was raining. He e-mailed everyone saying today was canceled, and then went to bed.

I woke up at ten, and I assumed today was canceled, even though it was nice outside. My mom on the other hand, kept saying it was such a beautiful day, and we should film. So, when Thomas finally woke up , he asked if we would shoot in the forest today. By now it was already 2 o'clock, we did get some of the day off .

Anyways, Today we filmed two more serious scenes. We managed to get them done relatively quickly, which is nice. It was fun, to do two serious scenes in a row. Its a lot different then any other time. I did a scene with Mark (Andrew), and a different one with Darius (Turtle/Nathan). Somehow me and Turtle managed to stare at each other for around a minute, 15 times, and not burst out laughing. I'm proud :)

Well , half a day , so half a post ;)

Wilderness Day

So , It seems like the days are just getting more fun as they go . And for whatever reason, times goes by when your having fun ! We're basically half way done shooting, and it feels like its been a couple days! Its incredible how much I've learned already, and I hope to learn even more as the shoot continues. Im having so many different experiences already. I never thought about it like this, but I would probably not go to a forest for the nest 5 years, or act with a man painted fully red, ever . And even more exciting stuff is still coming.

But anyways, today was an awesome day. Shorter than most so far, but still just as fun as the others. Even with the mosquitoes eating us constantly, the stupid bugs being loud, and the annoying people and dogs annoying us, we had a great time. We only ended up shooting like, two and a half scenes, but the were really fun . Although I did get a huge blister on my thumb from stick fighting for around two hours, the stick/sword fighting scene was still awesome. Basically every boy my age, or younger loves to 'sword fight'. Or at least with sticks. Today , we got to do that, and it was freakin' amazing.
I also had to get knocked out. I had to fall on my back at least 15 times. Once I feel right one a big stick too . It hurt a lot.

So, in between takes, I walked over to my mom sitting. They then called me over to do another take. I somehow got a stick caught in my shoelace. I tried to kick it out of my shoe, and it shot right up in my face. It hurt alot, but it was so funny, I couldn't even feel the pain .

So right now, me and Nathan (Turtle, Little Foot, Darius) are having a sleepover, waiting to see if it'll rain tomorrow or not. It it does, we get a day off. We're hoping for the best .

Crazy day, then day off :)

Yesterday was crazy, but awesome. First day the Dolgrath (Baddie) got all painted up, and acted with all of us. It was so fun ! Luckily we didn't have to do any scenes in that stupid boiling hot bedroom. Yesterday was an awesome, and different acting experience compared to all the others. Im really glad I got to be there yesterday :) Even if it was till 1:30 am .

And today, we were supposed to be filming a really awesome day, but instead, I got the day off ! Thats cool too, and we moved what was supposed to be today to next week sometime. Really excited for that :) Today, I saw the sorcerers apprentice . The whole film, I was comparing it to Minds eye. Watching movies is a whole different experience to me now, knowing how its made and all ,

Fun Day !

  For whatever reason, today was probably the most fun day in Wellsley so far ! We did a lot of awesome, interesting scenes. We got to tinker with tools and medals, and completely random objects you wouldn't think of in every day life. It was indeed a workshop. It worked beautifully!
  Later on, we did a "math scene", where Dreamworld Nadia suddenly interrupts me doing my math homework. That was fun to do, with a green screen behind Nadia the whole time.
  And we finally got to maybe the most awkward scene we've had to shoot so far. (besides Me and Chloe of course,) where Mark and Elysaa had a little something happening :) All I'm gonna say,. Don't want to spoil anything,

  But overall, today was a great day! It was really nice, having another good actor on screen to play off of. Today felt almost like a different experience, just because of one person. Good work Lily!
This is an example of fun times on the set,. In my previous posts, I talked about how long the days were, and how tiring it got, but not all days are like that. and of course everyday is still fun, just some more fun than others.

Another long, Tiring, Day..

Trust me when I tell you, working for 10 hours, can really wear you out. being on set for 10 hours, not so bad. But when you, not anyone else, just you, have to be in every scene, you can probably literally die somehow, from the workload.

Anyways , today was really fun. Went by surprisingly fast, to my liking .. Lots of jokes today :) Pretty sure most of the young cast cant wait for tomorrow. For the same reason of course, - the recast of Elysaa will be there, and acting with us for the first time. It'll be weird to go straight from meeting her to acting as if she's a best friend.. but oh well . Should be fun and challenging :) 

Reminder to all cast: WASH OFF YOUR MAKEUP. I made the mistake of forgetting a couples days back. Now I have pimples all over my nose, with toothpaste on top to get rid of theme. Trust me, It stings.

First 7 days

Ah yes, a week has gone by already !
Over the past week I've learned what being on set, and working is all about. This may not be a multi-million dollar production, but it sure is tough!

If you are assuming that filming is all glamorous, and fun.. you are completly and totally wrong.
Being on set, filming is fun, but it can be amazingly boring also. Dying in the heat, waiting 3 hours for a 30 second long scene, then doing that again, and again, is more tiring than anything I've had to ever endure in my lifetime.

Yesterday, I got to the studio at 9am. I left the set at 12:30am . For all those not so good with numbers, that adds up to 15 and a half hours. I was in basically every scene as well. For 2 hours straight, twice, I had to be under bed covers, sweating more than I would have if I ran a 20 km race! It felt so nice, one I finally got out of that bed.

But, that is just some of the not so good stuff. The people there, all of them, are amazing. All great friends of mine already ! I look up to all of them, and look forward to acting with them further. Mind's Eye is building great realationships for me, and the rest of the cast & crew.
Also just acting itself is a joy. I myself, have always wondered what it would be like to be a different person, acting is a way to let me live a life of someone different than myself. The feeling is just extraordinary.
